Beautiful Cabin and Great Mountain Experience by Jenny W. 12/04/2015
I visited Bears Best with my husband and two other couples, and we all really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is clean and comfortable, and the kitchen is exceptionally well stocked. The driveway was a little concerning, but manageable, and it was really close to some great hiking trails, which was why we were there in the first place. The three bedrooms were comfortable, but I suggest bringing slippers or warm socks for whoever sleeps in the downstairs bedroom. And please know that this is a pet friendly cabin, so while it is definitely clean, there are some telltale signs of dogs on the property (a dog bed and leashes hanging by the door). There aren't any carpets and the furniture is clean, but if you have serious dog allergies there may be some problems.

Loved It!! by Julie R. 11/25/2015
Bear's Best is an absolutely beautiful cabin and so relaxing. It was fully equipped in the kitchen which made cooking our Thanksgivings dinner so easy. I loved the jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom, and the hot tub on the deck was a big hit with everyone. Me and my family had several ping pong tournaments, played board games and cards provided at the cabin, which kept us entertained on the cool nights. We are already thinking of coming back next year.

Wonderful Property by Samantha P. 11/07/2015
We stayed a week at Bear's Best to celebrate my husband's birthday. This was our third trip to Blue Ridge and our favorite cabin so far. The location was convenient to activities such as hiking and was a reasonable drive to town. The cabin had a nice floor plan and was spotless. We did a lot of cooking at the cabin and the kitchen was well equipped. We do have an all wheel drive vehicle which we were thankful for- those roads are steep! This is a cabin we would be happy to stay at again.

Great Vacation Rental by Athena T. 10/31/2015
We had a great time at Bear's Best. The cabin was well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast & dinner. We saw deer a couple of times. We enjoyed the hammock, hot tub and game room. The location was great. We hiked to several local waterfalls. We didn't have a 4 wheel drive so we had an adventurous time leaving the cabin but it was not really an issue if you follow the instructions. The cabin is remote and private.

Perfect Getaway! by Shelly C. 10/23/2015
My girlfriends and I (all 6 of us) had a blast at Bear's Best - it housed us all comfortably! The cabin was clean and had a lot of items necessary for those "baking/cooking" fits that tend to spring up at midnight. Note: I highly recommend 4-wheel drive. The road leading up the cottage is quite steep and as it is all gravel, there is little traction. However!! If you come in a van with only front-wheel drive (like we did), take heart! Just get a good running start and you should make it. We had to unload some passengers in order to lighten the load. But it was totally worth it! We made it out safe and sound, and a bit healthier because of the exercise. 🙂 Fun times. I will never forget it - and I look forward to coming back again soon!!

Great Cabin in Aska Area by E.H. 09/20/2015
Absolutely enjoyed our stay in this cabin, thanks so much for a wonderful stay Suzan! The cabin is very private, comfortable, cozy, very well stocked, the owners truly thought of all the amenities and supplies you may need to get you started, but might have forgotten to pack. We usually take a 4WD to the mountains, not just to get to cabins like this one, where as recommended by the owner you will more likely than not need it, but also to get to various trail head locations that oftentimes are off of Forest Service Roads, which can become an unwanted adventure in itself otherwise. You could spend days in this cabin just to unwind and relax, read, play board games etc., we however always love to go exploring and hiking in the GA mountains, so we spend most of our time out and about. This time we hiked (and highly recommend) yet another part of Benton Mckaye trail, Long Creek Falls, Ocoee Whitewater area, Toccoa River Swinging Bridge, Stanley Gap/Aska Adventure area. We love the Ingles store in Blue Ridge, it has all the groceries and goodies you may need and then some. It's about 10 miles to drive from/to the cabin. The owner send a whole lot of information about the area upfront, as well as keeping a large folder with info about trails and sights in the area in the cabin. Suzan is a wonderful host, and the cabin is very clean and well looked after, and is also ideal and very welcoming for dog owners. The renovations and updates that are mentioned in the description are all very well done. And while the master bedroom itself has been updated with a beautiful and modern theme, one major recommendation on my part would be to update the master bedroom's mattress too, that's the only reason why I didn't give a 5 star review. One thing to definitely keep in mind otherwise, as mentioned in the recommendations/information by the owner is to double bag your trash. We're assuming that a very clever Racoon likes to come by and visit overnight, opening a closed lid (!!) trash container seemingly effortlessly, and hoping to find some grub.

My Response
Thanks for the great review. We are building a wooden box with a latch to outsmart that pesky raccoon. They are very crafty little creatures!
Beautiful Secluded Cabin by Rachel W. 09/18/2015
My husband and I stayed here recently on a weekend away from the kids and had a fantastic time! The cabin was clean and had everything we could have needed. We loved relaxing in the hot tub and especially enjoyed the deck off the Master bedroom. We enjoyed having coffee out there every morning of our stay. The cabin is very private. You feel secluded, yet it is close enough to Blue Ridge to enjoy the town without a long drive. The cabin is also roomy, though there were only two of us, you could have fit several more people comfortably. I noticed other reviews mention the road and hill - yes there are gravel roads and a hill right at the driveway. It can be a bit intimidating at first, but after the first time, I got used to it, and it was no longer a big deal. A four wheel drive is best, especially if bad weather has affected the roads. I didn't have one, but the roads were good that weekend, and we were just fine. The owner gave us tips for tackling the hill and after following them exactly, we had no more trouble with the road. The owner is also very nice, easy to work with, and helpful. We loved our trip and will definitely be staying here again!!

Relaxing Vacation by Michelle K. 09/11/2015
We had a great week. We took a dip in the hot tub under the stars, relaxed on the balcony off the master suite, played ping pong, and sat around the fire pit. That was a few things we did at the cabin. We also went zip lining, shopping, tubing, and hiking. On our hiking trip, we saw deer and a black bear with her cub. There is all kinds of trails close to the cabin location. We went to the Mercier Orchard and had the best fried apple pie. I wish we could go back in the fall to see the leaves change and go to a corn maze. I loved the local restaurants and the down town atmosphere. We also went a few towns over and saw waterfalls. My dog had a great time as well. The cabin already had dog bowls and a pet bed. There was plenty of room for him to walk around. We can't wait to go back. Thanks for an awesome vacation.

Great Place to Stay for a Mountain Getaway by RC 09/04/2015
My boyfriend and I stayed at Bear's Best with 2 other couples, and we all really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The cabin was very clean and spacious, with a different bedroom on each floor. There are several houses in the area, so you don't feel completely isolated but there is still a lot of privacy. The only problem we had was the road directly off the driveway. It rained during our visit, so the road was a little muddy. It took us 2 attempts to drive up the road one night when we were heading to downtown Blue Ridge, but the car we were in was just a 2WD SUV. However, Suzan (the property owner) had warned us about that so we knew it might be a little tricky. The cabin is convenient to downtown Blue Ridge, hiking spots, tube rentals, Mercier Orchards, etc so there was a lot to do if you want to venture out of the cabin. Definitely recommend Bear's Best!

A Wonderful Weekend by D. Hardy 07/24/2015
A wonderful stay! We really enjoyed our stay at Bear's Best. It is a beautiful cabin with lots of amenities and a beautiful view. I was very impressed with how roomy and clean it was. It is just about 10 minutes away from all types of activities from fishing to tubing and rafting and really close to a very nice restaurant. Also, I have never experienced such a friendly and helpful property manager she was so helpful and sent us very useful information on what to do and what to bring on our trip! We had a wonderful experience here and can't wait to come back!

Great Cabin! by Anonymous 07/18/2015
Great cabin! This cabin was perfect for my husband, dog and me. The cabin had plenty of room and was the perfect get away while my husband competed in Tri the Mountains. The only negative was the roads getting to the cabin. We had serious issues leaving the cabin because of the gravel roads. The owner wasn't joking when she said 4 wheel or all wheel drive were best. Other than that, I would highly recommend the location. Couldn't beat the closeness to trails, the river and lake blue ridge!

Fun Getaway for the Whole Family by Lori S. 06/21/2015
Fun getaway for the whole family! My family and I rented this cabin to spend a week in the mountains together. We enjoyed hiking, seeing waterfalls and tubing down the Toccoa. The cabin is close to everything and we love the aska adventure area. Bears Best was a wonderful cabin for our family we enjoyed playing ping pong together our kids had never played before but quickly mastered the game. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need, it was nice to be able to cook and not have to go back out after a long day outside. Susan is very helpful and quick to respond to any concerns that might come up. She even had a leash and a doggie bed (just in case you forgot yours). Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin. Lori S.

Lovely Cabin by Alene K. 06/12/2015
Lovely cabin! Thank you so much for a geat stay. This home is beautiful and we couldn't have asked for more. This was our first experience renting a cabin in Blue Ridge. Very comfortable and everything that we needed was available. The only problem we had was the narrow/gravel road to get to the cabin.

Amazing Cabin Would Definitely Stay Again by Kat 05/02/2015
Amazing cabin! Would definetly stay again. We had a brilliant stay in the Bear's Best cabin and would definitely stay again. The cabin was very spacious, had great facilities (hot tub, games room, open fire, washer & dryer), everything worked. We had no problems at all. Certainly worth getting a 4WD car to access the cabin - some of the tracks are a little undeveloped! But a great place to stay and within easy driving of so many amazing places to visit.

Quiet, Secluded Just What We Wanted! by CMC 04/17/2015
Quiet, secluded and just what we wanted. The cabin was exactly as pictured and described! We had a wonderful getaway with friends. It was well kept and stocked with everything we needed. There were a few small issues, but nothing that kept us from having a good time. Since this is a wood cabin we weren't surprised to find that some of inner doors didn't shut completely closed, but that's to be expected as the seasons change. There was also a few big fuzzy bees making their home in the eaves, that while not the kind to sting, they didn't like us hanging out on the deck too much. Overall these were small details that did not prevent us from having a great time. And I agree with other reviewers, definitely would have preferred to have 4 wheel drive, but we made it without it.

Peaceful, Relaxing Weekend with Friends by Emily 04/02/2015
Home away from home, fun, organized, comfortable, roomy, beautiful and absolutely perfect for a weekend away with friends! We had one pregnant woman and another with a small baby... I have to say, they both raved about their wonderful experience. The cabin was close to the Blue Ridge shops/restaurants as well as hiking and fishing. Whether you are looking for a girls shopping weekend or an adventure in the woods, this is the place to be! Only one thing to be aware of, please be prepared to either drive a vehicle with 4 wheel drive, all wheel drive or know how to use 1st gear to travel the steep gravel roads leading up to the cabin! We Love Bear's Best! by KMV 03/29/2015
We love Bear's Best!!! My husband and I rented this cabin in late March for an extended weekend getaway. Bear's Best is an excellent property with an awesome mountain view and all sorts of amenities. The property manager Suzan was highly responsive to any questions we had, and quickly helped us troubleshoot an issue with Internet connectivity when we arrived. You are best to bring a 4WD vehicle if you can, as the mountain roads in that area are mostly gravel/hilly and can be tricky. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin using the VERY well-equipped kitchen, took a dip in the hot tub at night under the stars and had a bubble bath in the master bath jacuzzi. While we never expected to do laundry while on this trip, we did end up doing so, and were very happy to have a washter/dryer available in the cabin as well. Oh and by the way, the sofa in the living room is awesome! So plush and roomy. And - I don't know what kind of bed was in the master bedroom, but it was one of the most comfy beds I ever slept in! One night, there was a tremendous thunderstorm very early in the morning. I walked out on the bedroom deck to watch the lightning highlight the mountain in the distance as it struck - it was so beautiful I took a video of the storm! We ventured into downtown Blue Ridge and enjoyed a lunch at Fightingtown Tavern and visited the shops in the square. While we were there, the pollen got the better of me and we ended up being housebound for a couple of days due to my sickness. The cabin made our stay extremely enjoyable nonetheless, and probably our favorite aspect of our visit to Blue Ridge was just sitting out on the back porch in the sunshine, enjoying the awesome view of the mountains & nature and just enjoying the QUIET. What a peaceful and relaxing stay we had there. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway from reality. Even if you have no activities planned, this cabin is fabulous for simple rest, relaxation & rejuvenation. Recommended for: Sightseeing, Adventure Seekers, Romantic Getaway
Bear's Best Cabin by Ivon 03/07/2015
Bear Best cabin. We just came back from our spring break trip to GA mountains, we stayed at the Bear Best cabin, and is exactly like the pictures, immaculately clean, we had a wonderful time, the kids played ping pong, all of us used the hot tub (very relaxing),did some grilling, we did a little bit of everything, it rained almost every day, but that wasn't any problem, took the kids for some gem mining ,and some pottery painting in Ellijay, we also went to Helen, the adults went for some wine tasting,we had a blast, we certainly had a awesome time, and we suggest it to all people. The owner was always making sure we were okay and if we were in need of something she made sure that it was done, Thank you for having a neat/fun place. The Bear's Best! by Fran H. 02/16/2015
The Bear's BEST! We decided to visit Blue Ridge during the wetest, coldest week of winter of 2014, in February. Because of impending storm the owner graciously allowed us to arrive a day early and didn't charge us the extra night!!!!! They scrambled to have it cleaned and ready without hestitation or a second thought. We arrived to a beautiful cabin with a fully stocked equipped kitchen. It has everything you need! Usually rentals are lacking but not this one. Cleaning supplies were available, along with many pots and pans and dishes. Salt, pepper, spices and sugar are there. Even a goodie bag with surprises were left for us! Plenty of towels and necessities. They even remembered "Fido" with doggie bowls and bed. They dropped off extra wood for fire because of the storm. Everywhere you look are decorations and candles. Games, movies and books are there. We contributed coloring books and crayons to the mix. The management and owners love this cabin and make your stay wonderful. They have such attention to detail and are customer oriented. Suzan, bought extra blankets for beds before we arrived because she thinks the rooms get chilly! We found the fire warmed the entire first and second floors. They want their vacationers to be comfortable. Downstairs is a ping pong table and dart board along with a couch and 3rd room. It is cooler down there than by fire, obviously. (I went down there to cool off when fire became too warm) The house is gorgeously surrounded by woods with a mountain peak peeking out between the trees. At night the hot tub is a wonderful place for star gazing, so clear in the dark. We had great conversations with our teens about nature there. The only thing I would caution about is the road directly in front of cabin. It is fairly steep and I have a low profile vehicle that got stuck in the rain soaked gravel/mud from all the rain. This has nothing to do with cabin or owners, I would juat like to recommend bringing a normal car or truck. After our "adventure in the mud" we parked at the top of the hill 1/4 a mile away. Got our exercise! The area is nice but with snow and rain we stayed in and played games and sat near fire. Family time. Check out the shops in town, we loved the shop with the salt crystals and had dinner at serenity cafe. It was good and people were pleasant. Everyone in Blue Ridge was pleasant. Breakfast or lunch at Merciers Orchard is a must! Get an apple pie for the trip home!
